History

GLASSOR s.r.o. is based in the Czech Republic, where the tradition of glassmaking goes all the way back to the 13th century and the glass produced in this region is known as “Bohemian glass” or “Bohemian crystal”. Our company was founded as Bohemia Star at the beginning of the 1990’s after the Velvet Revolution in the Czech Republic. After the Velvet Revolution, the company, this was previously owned and run by government, passed into private hands. At that time the company was managing five minor production facilities in the Czech Republic and was exporting products worldwide mainly through the middlemen and export agents.

Then, in 2002, the company was acquired by GLASSOR and is now a 100% Czech family-owned company. Nowadays GLASSOR’s organizational structure promotes a direct relationship with customers, cutting out the export agents and passing the benefits on to the customer. GLASSOR also emphasize on customized projects according to the most presided customer’s needs.

In 2013 the U.S. division was established, together with the warehouse facility in Cleveland, OH and direct representative personnel based in the United States of America. The France distribution division followed in 2016.

In 2015 the reconstruction of the new main production facility in Jicin, Czech Republic, finished. This event had a major influence on the manufacturing capacity, larger stock & logistic space and significantly lowered the environmental impact. The construction of new warehouse building started in 2017 and it’s expected to be fully in service by 2018.
